ReplyDeleteThere was news of it shutting down at the end of 2020 and with ex-hentai being shut down (rather quickly to everyone's shock) but I believe alternative hosting or what not was found and both E and Ex are back up and running. No further word on the matter so for now I assume the issue was resolved, according to some it had to do with the local laws were the site was being hosted from.

ReplyDeleteI've had contact with Shinra multiple times since he made this new topic. According to him, he is busy with adding the last touches (text and effects) to the pages that comprise the first half of this chapter.
I'll likely receive the pages when he is done (which is probably quite soon), and I'll tell you so when that happens.
Your anger and frustration is understandable. You all will have to accept, though, that he simply has far less time to work on comics than what we're used to.
If only Shinra was a better communicator. That would help a lot and IS a part that he has control over...

If you'd paid for it I'd understand, but even then I've been part of art commissions that took over a year for a single image and that was part of the deal. For comics this size, without dedicating half your life to them it's understandable they take a long time. Chill!

DeleteSo I've got a question about fallen star: are we gonna see some monster/demon combo corruption, sort of like the lighthouse but a more visceral/obvious merging? I only wonder because there's still some cocooned sister's in Eve's layer (or was that a petrification?) and because Tethys' initial demonic for was blue (or was that just because it was in her mind, similarly to how Ran's corrupt form looks different?). I personally would really like to see Gadriel break monster Saga or maybe Eve steal Leto. Don't know how any of this would fit into the plot though lol

DeleteAt this time of writing, I have done my overall review and feedback and I have given suggestions for additional pictures to fill various gaps or provide some extra drama. (2 altered pictures and 5 or 6 new pictures in total.)
DeleteI do that right at the start to give Shinra the most time to work on them (should he agree with me) while I focus on the text.
As far as the text is concerned I have covered the first 40 pages so far. That doesn't sound like a lot, but the earlier pictures contain the most text.
I didn't have time yesterday and I'm just about to start for today, but I'll have plenty of time tomorrow and saturday.
I haven't had response back from Shinra so I can't comment on that. Normally, I'll get a fixed version back that I cover once more to check everything, and then it should be ready.
I still think you should sit on them just to spite the whiners :)

How does this chapter compare for you to the prior HC chapters/the latest FS chapter? I think the latest FS was my favorite Shinra has done actually so going to be hard to top that lol, so I'm not setting expectations that high.

DeleteFirst of all, there is no way you can really compare the two. Fallen Star chapters are much bigger (so obviously contain a lot more) and are far more complex with a larger cast of characters who we have gotten to know more about.
DeleteWith Harriet, this is just the fourth chapter and is already meant to be a conclusion to the story as we know it so far. That makes the purpose of HC4 different (needs to entertain AND work towards a climax AND wrap up the story) and it therefore needs to be judged differently from other chapters.
Without spoiling anything, this chapter suddenly seems to be setting up a new part of the plot, which feels very weird for a concluding chapter. It will depend on the size of the second part of this chapter if the pacing will turn out good or bad. While reading for the first time, I feared that Shinra had no choice but to rush this new part of the plot, but after 150 pages, it's more the question if it isn't going too slow instead, or that the remaining pages will feel much more rushed than the first 150 pages.
It's this detail that makes it hard to have a good opinion about this first part of the chapter.
Basically, it's great. ...But will it also be great in retrospect?
Visual quality is excellent. Minea and Donald look much better than in the previous chapter(s). The story still contains that lighthearted wackiness that Shinra can't really use in Fallen Star, so it's really a typical HC chapter.
Makes sense. I'm wondering if that new part is "the Casting", since characters referred to it in prior chapters with some level of significance as though it'd be a big deal. Didn't get any details beyond that name then though. Eager to read it myself!

DeleteSome forms of corruption don't work for me because this is what I value- when it feels like mind control, for instance, it does nothing for me; I need the character to willingly give themselves over. Mind break is a turn off too- there, it doesn't seem like characters willingly give themselves over to heightened sexual pleasure so much as they just get the sense beat out of them, which is honestly more disturbing than a turn on for me.
Not sure why the physical transformation works for me the way it does but as an expression of that lust, its kind of needed too. Corruption thats just purely mental change can be disappointing as a result.
It's not the most niche fetish I've seen but due to its nature, you really need either a comic or animation to show it; single images are hard to make it work. Thus, good material feels limited compared to some other ones out there. I really wish I could find a single good animated series with it, hentai or otherwise, but no one seems to do it. Transformations are really difficult for 3d models so most just skip any kind of detailed mid sex transformation like we see in shinra's comics in favor of *poof* transformations, which kill the moment for me, if they have any transformation at all.
Innocence corruption. This is our idea/fantasy.

Also really enjoyed Karens corruption, Carlas turn in her earlier chapters, and, while not corruption, the girl in the police station getting screwed by the other police officers. My dream sequence for the final chapters would be Karen showing up to distribute the demonic essence per the Devil's orders in the city, and converting that police cutie into a demonic/succubus form. :drool:

So, just out of curiosity and while we have some time until the chapter comes out, what are your people's thoughts on nofap movement and nofap on a more personal and individual level as a decision to try and better one's life (without it being right or wrong, just a decision someone made for himself)?
ReplyDeleteLike everything else it should be done in moderation. It's absolutely true it takes away your desire to chase women, but it's way more accessible and relieves stress when no one else is around. I do it 1-2 times a week, seems adequate for keeping the beast down.

I think there are about 8 or so pictures in total to make. Just one of them is probably going to take some (pc) effort: redoing a picture that contained many characters but also contained a clear mistake.
DeleteOther pics are probably quite simple to make and are just simple inbetweeners to drop a bit of extra dialogue in.
I seriously don't expect this will take long. I don't know how far Shinra currently is with the pictures, but I'll probably receive the new version any day now.
Also, do notice that I used the word "probably" three times. I can predict whatever I want, but that's all based on the assumption that Shinra has a "normal" amount of time available each day to work on this comic.

Harriet Cooper 4 uses the same "picture = page" style as the previous two chapters, so we should end up with about 157 or so comic pages + cover + maybe a preface page.

DeleteThat's a tough one to answer objectively. I think we all agree that the quality of his chapters kept on increasing with each new chapter, and I've been involved myself with the recent chapters. It would be like I'm praising my own involvement.
DeleteMy favorite chapter is TFS 8 and I pretty much like everything about it. All the creepy Moyira scenes, Arachnea in her lair, and the full focus on Tethys... I think it's a real masterpiece.
Leto and her seven sins flashback scene is also a favorite.
Finally, I also have a special spot for the Ran&Hanuman scene in TFS 9-2 in combination with evil Tethys. She was such an absolute joy to write! I particularly like how this entire corruption scene has a completely different atmosphere than pretty much anything else in the series. There is a strange sense of, how shall I call it, warmth and safety. No cold, hard corruption from a strong and dominant male. No creepy monsters or anything else that would make the scene suitable for a horror movie. But instead, we're looking at the 2nd generation trinity "family" sorting it out on their own and getting back together on the same side. More than with most other corruption scenes in the entire series, I got the feeling that it was completely believable for Hanuman and Ran to "let go", that it was not just dark and evil hocus pocus that was being infused and took over, but that there also was emotional involvement.
If I would be forced to pick one scene, it would be this one. It goed beyond just showing an evil character turning a good character evil using fantasy elements with unspecified power (the dark force is as powerful as it needs to be, which is pure plot convenience) but also has that "warm family" element of three siblings getting back together that makes it more believable for them to stop resisting just a bit more easily. And meanwhile, there is that crazy Tethys who is clearly having so much fun discovering her new self.
When it comes to HC, I don't think there is a scene that reaches the same height as the best TFS scenes, but that has mostly to do with the much quicker pace in HC. It shouldn't be compared to TFS because it involves a completely different style of setting up scenes.
In HC, I have trouble looking past the fact that evil has it pretty easy to spread. All students seem more than willing to become demons, and the good guys have been little more than helpless and powerless onlookers so far.
My favorite HC scene so far is in the pages that we're currently working on. I like it the most because of its design and pacing. You'll see Harriet, Donald and Minea getting to act like the guys fighting for the good side in a scene with many new characters. There is so much that could have gone wrong in this scene's pacing, making it either too long and drawn out, or making it too short to get the feeling that the new characters were used well enough. I think Shinra got the balance exactly right here.
Hopefully you'll quickly be able to judge this scene, as well as all the other pages, for yourself! ;)

Wow! thanks for the well thought out response MP! I agree that generally shinras work has improved as time has gone on and that the trios corruption last chapter was his best yet, for some of the same reasons you mention. Looking forward to that HC scene you mention! :D

You should know that Shinra is not in the same chronology of time as we mere mortals.
DeleteIt has its own time flow as well as time gates which it takes as it pleases.
Shinra is good at the production but awful at communication. I wonder if he is that bad at his real job as well, traveling the world for months and not communicating with anyone.

A quick question, how long does downloading take on E hentai for 160 pages.

In the past it's taken hours, don't expect it to be fast.
DeleteI'd say up to an hour for a full chapter, depending on your connection etc. The pages need to be under a certain limit (5MB or something like that) for e-Hentai to accept them so it's not GBs of data.

ReplyDeleteWhat I can tell you is that I didn't receive the pages yesterday. Shinra did tell me that he originally wouldn't have time on friday, but something came inbetween and maybe he could squeeze in some work after all. All that's left to do is the making of one single picture. There was reason to be hopeful that he could have pulled it off yesterday, but alas.
DeleteSo really all that's happened is that we're waiting an additional day. It's still just one picture that he kept for last.
He'll get it done, and you'll get your comic.
Probably not on saturday, possibly on sunday, and otherwise a little later.
