There's still plenty to create and render but I'm definitely making some good progress lately as you might have noticed.
So to answer a few question, some of you asked what will be happening in the last remaining 15-20%?
Obviously I can't unfold the storyline, but here what I can say about it:
The last remaining part of the chapter will be packed with corruptions and transformations! We'll go back to Moyira Island to close the story about the order of Kael, we'll discovered what happened to captain Valar, we'll definitely have some follow up on the monsters of purgatory, we'll see to whom Karin's allegiance goes to and we'll wrap up everything before the final showdown! Sounds like a plan, isn't it...
Some asked for specific pics for the update, maybe a bit of Mariah, Tethys, Leto, their battle, their shoes...
I know I say this every time but it's becoming harder and harder to select pics for the updates, to give you some good teasing while keeping the plot and corruptions secret. It's has never been more true than for this update. especially because more and more character are getting corrupted in this chapter and it's hard to keep it a secret >_<
Anyway I hope you'll like the prime selection ^^
As usually, I'm a man of facts, so a little bit of stats to finish this note.
The total chapter has now 390 pages for a total of 795 pictures.
Part 1 was 218 pages, which gives us 172 pages rendered for part 2 so far.
I reckon the complete chapter will be around 500+ pages...

ReplyDeleteSoooo, it looks like those "curing" potions did their magic, can't wait to see their "cured" appearance. I'm curious about the late appearance of Mother & Co to the game at the Heavens Gates, how will their part evolve.
These are the times when i wish you could just pump it out like boots in a factory, 'cos this teasing is just unbearable. Then again, when it finaly arrives, it's simply awesome! Keep up with the tremendously beatiful job Mr. Shinra.

ReplyDeleteHmmm...It's a hard one to answer and pick the most difficult one. The reason is... I keep introducing and using more complex techniques as I progress and as my skills improve. So a scene that used to be complex a few months (read years ^^) ago would be rather simple now, and the other way around a complex scene today would have been impossible back then >_<
DeleteThe most difficult scenes thought remain the ones that involve a lot of characters at the same time. They consume a loooot of processing power often putting my computer on its knees despite being a powerful rig, it's hard to keep the scene appealing because there's a lot of things to move around to keep the scene appealing and plausible, keeping a consistent lightning is fucking hard, in summary more than 5 characters + nice environment around = a ton of problems ^^

ReplyDeleteI don¡t think that's going to be possible, Shinra has told before that this last part is going to be the hardest, so I guess we wont be seeing another preview until it's finally done.

ReplyDeleteI am completely fine but sadly without work at the moment: both Shinra and G9 appear to be far too busy for any comic work. I have had the chance to work on the first 132 pages of TFS9, but that was as far back as late september. The progress bar has moved since that time, so more pages have been made, but that is all that I know so far.

Since the comic is still a good four months or so away, anyone want to engage in speculation to pass the time? For me, I'm starting to get curious about how many lower level angels will be corrupted. We've seen in the previews that at least three will be corrupted, but given where this chapter seems to be going, I'm guessing that number will be a lot higher. Plus we have that redheaded angel with the demons who will probably get turned this chapter. Exciting stuff

ReplyDeleteShinra I have a question and you did not think to combine two comic books, now a very popular 3d model from the Witcher 3 Wild hunting (I generally like the universe of the witcher, the plot is just there and begs for it to create a similar comic book). It is a pity that very few people will be able to do something exciting and memorizing like your work. Basically, the Internet is filled with comic books about stupid teenagers who sleep and see how they masturbate their mummies and as blunt blondes dreaming about black genital organs in themselves in .... it's already really so enrages! So you have to reread some of your work. Here you and the plot and intrigue in the characters fall in love and then you think how she could create one. I would like to hope that you will find yourself assistants in this not an easy matter so that the people did not expect masterpieces for years 3 months 4 from strength but not 3 years 4. And this is a good idea about the Witcher, since Tsiri is a lady of space and time and can travel to different worlds. And if she had risen to the dark side of wild hunting, or a dark lord from her, a destroyer of worlds might have been born, or Darkseid who would later corrupt everyone from the league of justice.
