Let's be optimistic, it's only 25% but...but it already represents 75 pages rendered...you'll understand that yes...again this will be a long...very long chapter which could end being split up in 2 parts.
But let's see how fast I can go with this instalment, as unfortunately, it has not been written to be released in 2 parts and I don't want it to end up being unbalanced.

DeleteI know I know but I've been carried away with the story and some part added for pure fans service only. And managing all of those characters, giving them enough time on the front of the stage unfortunately requires more pages.
The thing is I've written and split the whole story into chapters trying to balance them as well as building a tension all along the chapter to finish on a nice cliff.
There's already a big focus on sex scene in the Fallen Star and if I start splitting my chapter where they were not suppose to be some chapter will end up being a succession of sex/erotic scene still with a purpose BUT leaving no room for the story to take place. While some other chapters will be all about action, fight, story and long dialog that would bore most of the reader without letting them rest with a good sexy scene.

well he sayed that he would never make such a big one but on the other hand shinra is right, he is perfectly balancing sex corruption and story into one and also he is much faster than the last time, imagine for the last fallen star chapter he only worked on this one now he is working on two comics and is faster than doing only one comic so in my opinion i dont care. For a comic that will be like 300 pages he is fast enough so go on ;)

I hope Saga doesn't get corrupted too much (TF'ed). Personally I would have loved to have seen her become a Evil Virgin Fallen Angel, so that as an angel she didn't offer much to the Devil's cause (being one of the youngest and therefore weakest angel's) but she could be used to massively boost the powers of the other evil characters. Preferably she would have been changed while a battle was happening or after an angel had beaten one of the evil characters (Maria maybe?) and then the angel is surprised by the sudden power increase and ends up being defeated by the power-boosted baddie, and then ... (wherever the plot goes from there.)

DeleteReally looking good, I am not too sure how well it would work with a series however have you ever considered releasing x pages every y-z weeks like some comics do such as devotion?
ReplyDeletei.e people get small chunks (the pages released don't have to end on a cliff hanger) instead of 1 large chapter.
I've already thought about it, do 15-20 per week a little bit like mangakas are doing but it's really hard to keep readers hooked as you more or less HAVE to end each chapter with a little bit of a cliff or suspens. If it's flat, people will just read it and move on to something else.
DeleteHonestly I've been taking a look at fallen star chapter 6, you could easily of stopped releasing at the following areas just as an example:
Deletepage 14 (discovery of the black substance)
page 21 (start of the vision)
page 44 (with the sex scene and the revelation of the holy trinity)
page 59 (after the second vision, again another sex scene)
page 62 (with the first mention of the harvest and attacking the school).
I'll stop there as there probably isn't any merit in me naming anymore. If you think that releasing x pages every y weeks is the better way to go I'd argue you should try it. You could always give it a trial run? attempt it for a month and then set up a doodle poll and see peoples responses

ReplyDeleteOkay Shinra-kun, as my not so subtle nickname may suggest I write some very intensive reviews and it happens that I have just finished one. Take your time and don’t be alarmed, this one is just a summary of my opinions on the Fallen Star. After this one I think I’ll just kick back for a time and write normal sized comments. ;)
++First what I’d like to be introduced or developed:
I would appreciate a bit of development with the male characters or at least to see them corrupt girls by themselves. I personally like when the transformation of the girl looks alike to the corrupter. My advice is to KEEP Lucifer as the main evil guy, if you plan or need to introduce some twist, try to develop the character by making him regain his kingdom and proving why he is the ultimate evil (I already got tired of seeing the villain losing in other casual shows or books I don’t need him to do so in my corruption comics!). Also as a man I appreciate a bit and even, a lot of lesbianism but I still prefer a final corrupter “male” dominant. And it’s just from an artistic point of view but could you change Lucifer demon form to a much bigger more hulking one? I realized that for the king of hell he looked a bit “puny” .I’ m sure you could easily find an explanation, it could for example be explained by him becoming more powerful with the corruption of starlight and the others.
++Critics
My main critic…Latex looking costumes.
I know it’s not much, but to me, latex based costumes are a bit silly. It looks too much like a costume bought at a joke store.
The corruption, great but…
On the concept of corruption itself: corruption as a disease/infection like you’ve introduced it is I believe a very good idea. Someone infected transmitting the corruption is quite hot and it would be good to see different “stages/steps” of the corruption .I think it is actually being nicely rendered for Mac Taggaert, but you could throw in the apparition of some symptoms too, reflecting the mental transformation (fangs, scales you’ve got choices) .Also sometimes it’s been inconsistent. I didn’t like it when the infection/darkness was removed from Kimy. I prefer the idea that when steps are taken toward corruption it counts for something. It makes the corruption better I believe when the changes of morality observed are real and that in the end the corrupted person really is in a way the same but having changed its moral compass (and turned evilly sexy and lustful of course )

DeleteAbout Male characters, one step at the time, we now have several of them as to know the devil, yes he's the most cunning creature and no he's not finished to surprise you. If you think about it, he never had to go full out till now but times are getting darker and a new holy war is about to begin.
On the other side, we have now Zell, Hyperion, Hanuman and even Jay, so plety of room for male corruption
About, Latex yes I admit red latex for sisters of the dark was not the nest idea I had and that's a little bit what I changed that in issue VI. I prefer leather ^^
For the corruption itself, I'm trying to keep it fresh and not fall into cliche. The kind of slowly corruption you mention will take place with at least one character (not gonna tell which one) and will affect him/her, slowly changing him/her into what they despise the most

Final and perhaps most important thing I wanted to say: the best corruption is a progressive corruption. (I know you already do most of what I will mention already , it’s almost as much my “manifesto of corruption” than advice per se ).By progressive I mean apparition of fangs , pointy ears , tail ... and ideally the character victim of the changes trying to hide them. I believe that better than a new “costume” I prefer physical changes (they can be very small but must reflect the changes happening to the character psyche or moral. Also while what I previously mentioned is important it’s necessary also to, in the end, keep some traits of the character while having changed others so that we can recognize him/her and that in its new form we still see bits of the old one that we might have found attractive. Finally I think the “type” or theme of the transformation needs to be set first and then you need to build it up so that you can slowly introduce the physical changes bits by bits (for example scales starting to extend day by day for a serpentine corruption; or pointy ears and tail growing for a succubus type corruption) ) .

Did you think about Impregnation/Pregnancy as part of the corruption? It could be interesting story-wise and (hot-wise): one of the children of god, supposed to be a virgin with the seed of the devil in her … At first ignorant then horrified she could start to become protective about it and turn to love it (etc.). It would also make a nice parallel between this god’s family and the new expanding devil’s family (also wasn’t it the wish of Starlight to have one? I think it’s a part of a good explication for why she turned).
Will you make a scene for each the policewoman and the saleswoman/fashion girl to develop the characters a little? They are a bit bland for the moment… (Idea: Just two or three pages when we see them suddenly turning into their demonic forms for example in a police station or in a fashion show and start attacking everyone around)

Before I found your work and G9's, the best corruption comic bar none was Firstborn's Fallen Star series which, like yours, traces the devil-spawned corruption of a stalwart superheroine into an evil vampiric villainess. For some inexplicable reason, Firstborn discontinued or interrupted that series to resume a rather dull alien absorption saga that appears to be endless. DeleteI can recomend Firstborn and he´s story, "Omega unit" and the continuation of that series "Queen´s reign". It can be found in Mccomix and the first "Omega unit" i think is on g.e hentai. If not its free to read in the opened part of Mccomix. It´s a great serie. Looks good and the story is great. I would say it´s the absolut best you can find on Mccomix.
