I'm finally back! For how long I don't know, but in the short amount of spare time I had the last few weeks, I've managed to finally achieve the third chapter of Harriet Cooper and the Wizards' Sacrifice.
I hope it won't just be a "all that time... just for that".

I probably also owe you an apology for this taciturn and very silent past year. I really don't won't to spread on the subject as to what or why, but just know that it was not a choice I've made happily. I just could not be on the blog or answer your posts and I was just able to read your comments through bounced emails.
Hopefully, this storm is now behind me and I can spend more time with you. Yes, in the midst of all this mess, I've also opened my own company, so time is still not on my side. But we're gonna get there, and maybe one day my company could sponsor some young talented artist to take the helm.
One can dream...
And no, I haven't been slacking off those last weeks... I've also made quite good progress on the second part of TFS9. The first 58 pages are done and it's only my humble opinion but... I think it's my best work so far ^^ To make it easier for you to forgive me, I think it's only fair for me to post a few pics of the coming chapter and let you be the judge of that :D

ReplyDeleteMore cliffhangers and no real corruption other than a side character. Hate to be a buzzkill but i guess we have to wait another year for Minea, the Professor and Penny's corruption?... I always and still think you are the best in the business but this chapter wasn't as good as the others.
The renders look great but the story wise its lacking. Sure it would be fine if this was a monthly issue but when chapters come out half a year or so. The story should not be structured in a sense like this. I would take it even if the professor was turned into a succubus here with some Bella action but the plot twists just prolongs the suffering for people who are here for the corruption and it does not fit into the story IMO.
Side note. Bellas skin on page 73 looks better compared to 183 and onwards. It looks almost rubbery later on.
Well looking forward to TFS 9.2 i guess.
TL;DR This isn't Dragonball z, this is h3ncomics. There shouldn't really be a reason we have 2 chapters of setups... Other than Gellinas scene, the rest were kinda touch and go and all over the place. Lacking some real corruption & Bellas texture looks funny later on compared to Gellina and hers at the start.
PS. Please finish H.C before moving on to Legion...

Hello SHINRA, I am satisfied with your return. On the other hand I find HC3, too "wise" from the point of view of the corruption. Otherwise, I am very satisfied altogether. And finally I completely agree with what says an unknown person:

@MP, Just curious, no offense intended. Did you notice something like this and felt like it was ok? Or did you have doubts but because the comic was long overdue you just went along with it.
First things first: I will never influence Shinra's comics in such a way that I will advise him to give it a major overhaul. I'll help to make everything that IS there work, but I'm not going to interfere with the author's own intentions and visions. You are all here to read Shinra's comics and not "ShinraMP" comics.
DeleteThat said, I personally like this chapter a lot. That shouldn't surprise anyone by now: my personal preference is "good stories with erotic and fetish action added to it" as opposed to "scene after scene of erotic and fetish action with a little bit of story to weave it together".
I'm not saying that either is better or anything than the other; I'm just explaining my own taste. Most corruption comics out there have hardly any focus on an actual story beyond the hardcore pages, so the comics of G9 and Shinra are perfectly in my comfort zone.
As such, it was easy to predict that there would be complaints from readers that felt they got too little in this chapter. Happens all the time with each chapter or comic that Shinra and G9 make. Some readers keep on wanting these comics to be different than they are, each and every time. Among the reactions to TFS8, there were even posts saying that Shinra doesn't know how to make corruption comics! The Fangs chapters from Cantraps all got reactions like "there is hardly any sex here, and all there is is yuri. What's it doing on e-hentai?" Hello? Are the authors allowed to make the comics that they want to make?
The climax of HC3 is the orgy in the Come and Go room and Minea's scene with the incubus. That's pretty early in the chapter, and I have to admit that this also surprised me, but...why not? I'll also admit that I told Shinra that I thought all the pages after the "orgy interruption" were actually the most interesting of the series so far for me. The first chapter rushed beyond belief and the second chapter basically has just a select few different scenes. There is finally some dynamic storytelling being done. We finally get to know Harriet&co a bit better.
Still, I'm very aware of my conflicting interests and opinions with the majority of the fanbase, so this criticism of yours and of others was expected.
This particular story arc of Harriet was and is designed to consist of 4 chapters, and because Shinra has planned and storyboarded everything from the start, you can be sure that everything that is still supposed to happen will happen in the next chapter. In other words, the construction of this chapter has been designed long ago and has nothing to do with this comic being long overdue (same will be true for TFS obviously.) It was meant to be like it is even if I fully disagreed with it (which I don't.)
Finally, there is one part of your post that I wonder about and that is that you claim that the later pages are "a huge slap to the face for corruption fans". Why is that? Because there was no new corruption? Because Professor Changeling's taint became undone even though it's very clear that she is far from released of Bella's grip and despite getting a good look at her in her most corrupted and evil appearance so far? Because Penny, clearly corrupted, had her first appearance as an opponent but still without a demonic look?
I agree that there isn't any new corruption climax or anything at the end, but you make it sound as if the last part of the chapter was an insult.

Hi MP, thanks for replying to my post and really appreciate you taking the time to write such a long post. Of course this is all but my own opinion.
DeleteMy opinions are heavily influenced by the fact that each comic takes close to a year to be released. To put it simply, I'm a simple man, i'm here for the corruption, the story needs not be to deep and i see 2 chapters over the course of 3 years being built ups, i get disappointed, that is why i called it a slap to corruption fans or at least the section of corruption fans that prefer corruption > deep story.
Sure story goes a long way to enhance the experience and TFS does that that is why i like it but in every of the later TFS chapters there is significant corruption going on except 8 and i could relate why people got upset. (Still looking at you Shinra you said Tethys corrupted form will be revealed but it was only a tease). This chapter left me with nothing but "wait for HC4 coming 2019/2020".
Furthermore, HC4 being the last chapter also has me worried with all this build up. Would the pacing be ok? (Cantraps chapter 4, never forget).
A corruption comic leaving us with no corruption was what disappointed me. Go for the stories, but at least leave us with something. Like TFS 7, everything behind was just story but hey we got Miss T in the front. The same story could be told but i felt like the events should be reshuffled so a plot twist can accompany a complete corruption in the chapter. E.g (Miss T going back and forth, but accompanied by sisters of the dark & so on) Not just cock block over two chapters.
Long story short, events should be realigned to reach out to a larger group of fans. Long wait between chapters causes angst.
I think it's that final conclusion that causes the most disagreement between Shinra and some of the fans. If the fans didn't need to wait so long between chapters, they would be less critical about getting their fix in each installment. That is very true indeed. The reality is that Shinra (G9 too) finds himself having less and less available time compared to when he started.
DeleteBut this would mean that he is "forced" to adapt his storytelling style and possibly all sorts of plotlines that he thought up before to get to chapters with quicker delivery of the hot stuff.
In other words: what he makes used to be okay, but it stopped being okay because he now takes so bloody long to make a new chapter.
I think this is pretty unfair. I hate to bring up the familiar defense arguments again of "it's only a hobby" and "nobody is paying for this" (well, except the donations), but it's still very much the truth of the matter. If this stops being fun for Shinra to do (for whatever reason), it wouldn't make sense for him to continue doing this.
Who knows what he still has in store for Minea, Penny and Calliope Changeling? Probably all sorts of juicy events that wouldn't be possible if he had "rushed" their particular events to get their corruption done and complete in this chapter. Same for what he has in mind for Tethys. There is probably a good reason why that final part didn't appear in TFS8. (Note, btw, that her corruption IS already complete. That talisman is all that keeps her from truly becoming the demon that she already is. The corruption is done; it's just the transformation part that is missing. But I digress...)
You're worried about the pacing, but I'm sure that has been taken care of, precisely BECAUSE it has all been written and storyboarded in advance. HC is likely going to be the first series that will reach its conclusion, so it will be interesting for us to see how Shinra does this. (Ending a multipart series in a satisfying way is a very difficult task.) HC has a small cast and there aren't that many untainted characters still left, so it doesn't even surprise me that Shinra chooses to keep them around for a juicy conclusion instead of burning through them in the same speed as was done in the first chapter. How much story would be left if only Harriet and Donald were still around to fight for the good side?
To tl;dr my own post: I strongly believe in letting the artist do what he wants and tell us the story in his own preferred way. We can all want each chapter to be completely different than it is, but what reason does Shinra have to make something in such a way that he doesn't really want it? We saw that with the unfortunate Yoru no majin: that is going to clash at some point...
Of course at the end of the day its still what Shinra likes to do. As a mere fan i can only voice how unfortunate it is the way the story is planned, cliffhangers and long wait times don't work out for me. But hey been here for 6 years, and still would be.
DeleteThe general expectation for HC is that its supposed to be a simple straight to the point comic. A quick glance at the e hentai comments talks about the same thing as the anon above. The kind of story telling here is what you would expect of TFS, maybe people generally agree HC should not have been this way or just that people who did not get their corruption are more vocal about it. Theres just so much expectation for corruption this chapter and a double cliffhanger for a comic did not go down well.

DeleteYou shouldn't feel bad, every comic is a learning experience. Sure i criticized this chapter but he hasn't lost a fan. Its just another chapter that wasn't to my preference. I'm more of a "holy shit that scenes so great imma revisit again" guy instead of a "wow this shits deep" cause no matter how deep the story is i'm not going to revisit it cause honestly im here to fap.
DeletePlus side is, when HC4 finally comes it will be sweeter as many people stated. Only obstacle is the wait. HC was meant to be fast, but as Shinra got better so did the production time taking longer + commitments. If HC came out every month I'm sure people would hardly even bother, but the story telling is being limited by life commitments.
TL;DR, the way it was executed was different from the way it was meant to be executed. Cause life.

DeleteIn regards with HC, keep in mind that I'm not the sole writer of this story, and that I'm following the original script, adding my own story touch. Yes HC has the intention to be a lot more lighthearted than TFS, but I also realize it now, a lot less focused on corruption...
Minea will definitely be corrupted in HC4, don't worry about that.

I like the toned body you gave her and the texture is beautiful. It has the right shine a demon skin should have. Long shot but the next HC could use something similar? Observation shows the incubus and Bella looking different than the first half. Maybe its the lighting?

DeleteThe second part will definitely be bigger than the first one as there's a lot more happening story-wise and on different fronts. It's hard to predict the exact number of pages, but keeping the same ratio I've done 58 pages that corresponds to 7% of part 2, so 58 divided by 7 and multiplied by 50... it would mean that the complete part 2 would count...414 pages ahahaha - please don't take those assumption for accurate and reliable info ^^

Read from G9s blog you would have a book 2 and i hope Shinra actually does do it. Its a pity life commitments and time between releases affect so much of the feedback. How the storyteller intends to tell the story gets different expectations due to differences in release time.

ReplyDeleteIn corruption circles the balance between story and payoff is an ongoing conversation. Each person has their personal tastes. Looking at the work we produce at VampYou you can tell we go pretty full tilt on payoff. Part of that is to my personal tastes (and the audience we've built up) but part of that is resources. I'm not sure we even could do a several hundred page piece like you're able to do, it's quite an achievement.
Despite the payoff ratio of the work I write and commission... I think Shinra is on pace to deliver something amazing when the piece is finished. Taking the completed piece together there's going to be some monumental corruption payoff over a ton of pages, with a lot of characterization, consistent rules and look of the demons, etc. It's going to be one of the quintessential works in the fetish.
Good chapter but I thought we would see the final transformation of ginger... ☺

The only thing I have to notice is that all the girls who are getting corrupted are already hot in appearance and they getting even hotter, but for me the real turn on is when a not so pretty girl or woman evolve during her transformation into a very hot babe. That kind of transformation was Mariah and another that will occur is Betty in the ballroom. What I mean is that the evil take advantage on our weaknesses and what a better weakness from our appearance, especially when we became old or we weren't beautiful. Another notice is about men, who all transform onto ugly monsters except from the devil. Furthermore although you mention you are not into this, a feminization would be great for example for punishment or for taking advantage to corrupt of a secret desire. Evil should be twisted and wicked.

ReplyDeleteAll in all I enjoyed this chapter, wonderful pics as always. And again I was tricked by Shinras teasers, I always think oh I know whats going to happen and then, nope he got me again didn't expect that. There was enough corruption in this I think. Mrs red hair did it only once with a succubus and was so eager to make Harriet her own, that you could think she was already a succubus. I admit with little Mrs Teacher I was surprised that Shinra let her turn back, but I roled with it because, come on if you know his work, there will be something nice in stock, or she will play a significant role, we can't know. I think it is ok that non of the three main characters is corrupted yet, one is on the brink thats fine, because Harriet is supposed to only have 4 chapters it would have been a rush if one after the other would fall, everyone could guess what would happen to the last man/woman standing. But now we can probably expect what ever will come in the final chapter. But I have to say I was a bit dissapointed that the gate ceeper succubus wasn't participating with her guests.
PS. Oh well Shinra seems like you have something really really nice there with the next TFS chapter.
I can only say one thing... If some people have been disappointed with the lack of corruption and transformation in HC3, I'm going to make it up to you with TFS9! This one I can promise will be packed with corruption and transformation! No corruption cliff!
DeleteTFS9 would no doubt be the chapter with the most transformation and most corruption. TFS has almost never let me down. Plus the new renders for old characters are like icing on the cake. Hopefully time is on your side and we can be graced with the second part soon.

I also hope you have something special in store for Ran, after Thetys fate (Leto's before her), Ran's destiny is what i'm waiting for the must, specially now that she has those tainted vials.

DeleteI really liked the Harriet Cooper 3 storyline, mostly for the reasons MpGrey talked about: it's far more satisfying to me personally to have a comic with story that involves intense corruption scenes rather than scene after scene with little to no story. This chapter seems like build up to the epicness of Harriet Cooper 4. That said, it was a little light on the corruption. Anyways, stellar work as always Shinra and MpGrey and can't wait for TFS9 Part 2!!!

ReplyDeleteThank you Shinra and MP for this new work of art. Yes it has been a while but it was worth it for me personally. This latest chapter is a great intro for what to come in chapter 4!.
I have a suggestion however. We all know Shinra is a busy lad and that it takes time to do what he does. It might be beneficial if Shinra could give us a rough view of his planning so we know and are aware that during some months there is simply no time and we won't start bitching haha. Doing this it might also relief some stress from the creators that they feel no pressure from the community. This is no hate whatsoever just a suggestion :)
Anyway I thank you both for your work during the years and I hope we get to experience many more of your comics.
Can't wait to see rhea get corrupted.

ReplyDeleteShinra has said that Minea will be corrupted in HC4. Whilst that will be welcomed, surely it is the wrong question to ask. Shouldn't the question be how many of the demons will be discovered and banished? If Minea is turned but is not discovered, then she will be able to continue corrupting others, including Penny and Professor Calliope, who only need one more contact with a demon to be corrupted themselves.
ReplyDeleteThat would then be able to lead in to the next book of Harriet Cooper, which has been hinted at in this blog. It would also then be possible to summon those who were banished using the Black Magic rituals hinted at in the first chapter of Book 1.
Even if all the demons are banished, and the Potion of Purification is used to free those affected of the demon taint, if the person already had darkness in their soul, then that would also be a way for the summoning of a demon in Book 2. The likeliest person would seem to be Penny, though others, as yet unnamed, may also be involved.
I love the thought that Minea will secretly corrupt others when the other think she is still innocent.
DeleteMeh. I'd prefer seeing the main Incubus succeed in his plans. What would be nice would be to finish the chapter with new students arriving in a school completely corrupted (staff and older students) full of dangers and temptation at every corner.

ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog since 2015, and I must say that your work gets better and better. My personal favorite is TFS, but "The Queen" has serious potential. Have you ever considered releasing 1 or 2 pages every week or two? It seems to be an idea several artists are using. If you have 58 pgs avail, and mpgray has the script finished...you would have anywhere from 29 to 58 weeks avail now. My thoughts are, that it would allow you and mpgray to work on the comic(s) at a slow steady pace...instead of doing a massive release all at once. That way your fans get to enjoy a weekly page release, and the anticipation of the next week release. Congratulations on the launch of your new company! I know how difficult and stressful it can be. Cheers!

DeleteMiss-T will only have some appearance at the end of the chapter, so if she makes it to an update, that will definitely be closer to the release date.

ReplyDeleteHi guys, it's been a while but just wanted to say that I should have a bit more time in the coming weeks to spend on the comics.
ReplyDeleteI'm still far from hitting the 75% mark but definitely further than the 57% shown in the progress bar. I should have reached soon a good point in this part 2, and I thought it would be cruel to let you wait until I reach the 75% for you to get an update.
So all of this to let you know that it might not be as big as the usual updates, but I should post something soon-ish :D
Any corruption previews? Hopefully. Mariah double futa would be nice too. But anything goes ^ _ ^

Are you creating the scenes in order and are there any scenes that will take longer than normal?
ReplyDeleteYes I do render the scenes in a very sequential order.
DeleteThe longer scene is the one I'm working on right now and which is the whole Tethys "story".
After that one, all the rest of the events should link together quite fast...hopefully
How different would you say Tethys would look from the previews we got in chapter 8 while she is undergoing transformation?
DeleteI think the "cure" Karin created is going to be used on demon Tethys. At least hoping for that so we get another corruption as she becomes a monster.
DeleteThat would be interesting, but i don't think we would get double corruption. It would more like be the trigger to start her current corruption. As for the other vial, it might be used to start Rheas corruption or someone already corrupted might consume it to become more powerful.
