There's unfortunately always something getting in the way, and it's not always easy to cope with everything at the same time. Sorry for that...
But let's get back to business with this 75% update, the last one before final release.
The chapter is now up to 112 HD pages, and should count more or less 140-150 pages in total.

DeleteI would say that she is in pictures 3,4 and 6, I believe that queen of underworld that for some reason captivated most of folks is the bespectacled girl from previous HC update. This girl is in this update in pics 3,4,6 and the outfit that she wears seems to be the one that queen has, only difference is that the queen seems already corrupted and partially undressed. That's my guess anyway.

Well shinra did say first post so more pictures. Well the queen of the underworld can always have been in her human form in picture 6, she could have already been corrupted but has not showed her new form yet.

Hello, I have a hypothesis for the girl of the photo 4. I noticed that she had the same mask as Gellina in photo 1 and 2, in my opinion she changed her appearance to seduce the man in photo 3. I can me deceived but if my reasoning is good gellina is the queen The Queen of the Underworld.

After this policy comes into force, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of their revised policy. Content will not be deleted, but only blog authors will be able to see the content that they've made private.
You'll have probably understood it by now, this spells the end of our adventure on Blogger >_<
Yes, H3N and G9MP Comics wo't exist in their current form or at the same address anymore...
But as Mpgrey also explained in his previous comment, we are looking at several other alternatives and already have a good idea in mind to bring you to another level, a brand new experience, which we'll hope will be even better.

DeleteShinra, have you tried the new DAZ Beta with Nvidia rendering? It really takes some getting used to. Finally got to point where I wanted last month with 3Delight rendering, now this update comes out and...aw heck, gotta relearn everything about lighting again from scratch. Skydomes now need to become emitters, old lightsets are completely useless, shaders will need to be applied to everything... Some nice stuff though: previews and rendering is a lot faster, light is more realistic everywhere (though still missing shaders for stuff like clothes), details come out more natural looking. Do kinda miss the cartoony look with the stronger colors. It's going to be one hell of a switch!

I've tried it, but it looks like I'm kinda stuck with the good old Daz 3Delight engine for now...
DeleteI've actually always been rendering on a old laptop (workstation) which is a monster performance-wise, but not quite adapted for 3D rendering even tho' the laptop include a NVidia Quadro >_<
I'm even more retarded now that all those new technologies like Cuda and Iray are getting common.
To render just a character shoot without anything else, no background, no nothing it took 40 mins and the final result still had artifacts in it,
Which means that this is unusable for me at that stage >_<
Reading at the daz3d forum about this new Iridum release, people were talking about their config and I was amazed to see how many of them have machine with 2, 4 or even 8 monster graphic cards like GTX980 or Tesla O_o
So there's no way for me to jump on that new 3D engine unless I rebuilt a complete new machine, and since my comics are free I don't want to spend 3 grants for nothing... :D
Ooofph, that's a shame. Maybe time to start a Patreon to fund expenses? Been looking into this myself (possibly as a team-up). I don't have a monstercard either, just a single 670 that didn't seem to help 3Delight.
DeleteThe preparation takes longer now, but with Iray it's able to do a single character+lighting+skydome+basic set within minutes, then it spends 10 minutes refining shadows and skin depth. The remaining time is just slight fixes that can be cancelled. Way faster then before for me.
Have to say: after some more experiments, it's totally worth the switch. Skin feels so much more thick and life-like. You could rerender your old comics and turn them into super HD versions! :-D (just kidding, that would be insane)

I have big plans and Patreon is a part of it, but to implement all of these, it takes time, time that I don't have right now >_<
DeleteThe few tests I've done with IRay are really good, but way too slow with my current config. It's ok if you're selling image sets of 50-100 pics, but not when you're creating full fledged comic that requires a 1000+ pics >_<
The preparation time should not change for me, as I was already reworking nearly all the shaders and textures in my scenes, and the lighting is actually way faster to setup with IRay for a way better result.
Things is, as I have to build a complete new machine (can't put a brand new GFX on a laptop ^^) I would definitely go for a big config rather than something in the middle which will need to be updated in the short term anyway... Raaaah dilemma dilemma >_<
If you started a Patreon, I'd gladly contribute money to help out. You're one of the VERY few artists in this niche, and a talented one at that. It's the least I could do to contribute to the community. (I can't do art ;_;)

Are you doing something similar? and if you do so provide commissions for high amount pledgers, wont it take out time from the comics?

ReplyDeleteYup. It's kinda what you're used to with Shin, but more parody based. Shinra is one of the few people who does comics right (alongside G9 and cartoonists like PBX), so instead of waiting for other people to make stuff, I decided to start producing my own. Problem is you get better and better at the technology, which causes the dilemma Shin talked about in his previous post. That's why there's nothing online yet (apart from some scraps which look horrible compared to the new stuff). But it'll work out. DBZ, Smash Bros, Star Wars...heck I might even do a Call of Duty parody. I'll launch a blog somewhere this year, Shinra will get dibs on the final previews. ;-)

ReplyDeletePeople, i don´t think that Shinra will start again with the Chapter IX of The Fallen Star, i think that after this second Chapter of Harriet, he will rest a little and continue with the second Chapter of Yoru No Majin, and after that, god and Shinra will decide it.
ReplyDeleteAbove he did say most likely yes that he would be working on TFS, unless of course someone commissioned it, iirc yoru had someone commissioning it or something due to the smoking scene thing. With the upgrade of his comics, the quality of course went up but the waiting time has been lengthened at least three folds. With so many comics, people have to wait a year for the next chapter. Since TFS is the main comic, it should have the most priority.

DeleteI think when shinra first made these many comics, the production time was not as long, now that everything has went up, its best to finish one series or alternate between TFS and other sub comics.
Something like TFS, yoru, TFS , legion and so on. Just a suggestion.

Anyway, I should be in Europe on the weekend and will take my laptop with me, so "if" and I say IF everything is ready by then, I will upload the chapter. My ultimate deadline is the 1st of April, as after that I'm off to Africa for 2 weeks and won't have any computer with me ^^

Hey Shinra-kun, I know you're busy and all with stuff so I'll just put the idea out there for now, maybe if you like it we can do something about it in the future.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about hosting a larger community dedicated to corruption? Like having a forum where people of similar interests can get together to discuss topics as well as make their own content. With a forum, you can have boards and threads organize topics of discussion rather than have them all thrown together in the blog comments.
I think PlayShapes ended up sharing all of the source files to his hentai Flash projects, and a forum was born out of it where people got together and produced a lot of content. A lot of people used the forum as a way to reach out and find people to collaborate with, often times with a lot of success. With your name being as established as it is, starting a community off of it should gather you quite a dedicated following to start.
In addition, I personally don't really like having my identity shown here due to the options I have, and seeing the amount of anonymous posts perhaps a lot of other people feel the same way. If you created a forum, I wouldn't hesitate to register a name I'll be able to post more confidently. Even if someone made a throwaway account, it makes it more likely that they will come back posting more often and end up being a regular.
More importantly, if there's a lot of activity going on on the forums, it takes a lot of the pressure off of your release schedule. If people find other ways to busy themselves and get involved, they wouldn't be so impatient and naggy (unless you like the attention, and I wouldn't blame you :P).
A forum would be a great idea, people can make fan art of shirnas work and so on, people are naggy because there are not much corruption comics out there that are comparable to shinras work.

DeleteH.C. is a shorter, lighter story than Fallen Star.
This chapter consists of "just" 146 pages, making it considerably smaller than Shinra's previous release.
For better or worse HC was written so Shinra could put out a chapter fairly quickly. This has advantages (not as long a wait) and drawbacks (less story than the rather epic FS)...
DeleteEven really short chapters of fairly good quality content is more than I could ask for. Like I've mentioned many times before here, this is a very small niche. Beggars can't be choosers. I'm certainly grateful.

True, shinra would only be in europe over the weekend, so hes probably flying now since malaysia to europe is like half a days travel. Just 1 or 2 more days of waiting i guess.

ReplyDeleteTechnically yes, however Europe is minimum 5 hours ahead of the eastern timezone and we don't exactly know which country he's in so it's hard to tell what time/day it is for him right now; it's entirely possible it's already Sunday for him.
